Lenosky - Killing It At 40

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a month since the Sea Otter and my birthday celebration. This past April 19th I turned 40 years old. I remember when I was a kid it seemed so far away, but life moves by pretty fast and that milestone sneaks up on you before you know it. I'd like to think that I've put the first four decades on this earth to pretty good use, but I would have been happy to let this birthday pass by with little to no fanfare. A couple weeks before the Sea Otter I found out a few of my sponsors had decided to throw me a party during the event.

I wasn't psyched to announce to the world I was turning 40, but I figured people were gonna find out, and this was a pretty cool way to do it. I've been riding professionally for over 15 years and I've learned that most sponsorships are business arrangements but the companies that helped throw this party went beyond that and made a personal gesture I'll never forget. I'd like to send a big thanks to Giant Bicycles, Teva, Native Eyewear, Fox Racing Shox, Clif Bar, Contour and Mavic for making the night possible and thanks to everyone who came out.

This guy sure does kill it on a bike, but after he cut in front of me in line at 7/11 in Whistler last year (in front of his kids) and didn't seem to care when I confronted him, he really lost a lot of respect. Especially at 40. Come on.

Even tho I have nothing to back him up for his actions on the day you have spoken about. I try not to judge a book by its cover, but maybe I'm wrong and he may be actually a dick..... which I hope he is not because I have looked up to him for awhile.

Lol, it's not like he just turned 100. He's only 40!

It's always a shame when someone pro does something like that. I'm sure he was just in a bad mood or something, maybe he is cool really, no idea. I think the same about Danny Hart for jumping lift queues in France when the queue was about half hour long Razz

I dont think its fair to discuss this incident without knowing all of the details- I mean you never cut somebody off by mistake?

Maybe his kids REALLY wanted that slurpee? JK...

That's a bummer for sure. If you're going to be a d1ck at 7-11, it probably holds true in general. Although, he's from New Jersey right? That's how it is when you live in/near NYC. Either you make it happen, or you get trampled on.

BTW: Foosball FTW

Whining because his kids let him in line in front of them? Give me a break. I'm sure you've waited in line for your Mom at the grocery store while she ran to get something she forgot. Besides, he probably paid for all his kids stuff.

@Coastrider22: WHO CARES!! Not I nor do most PB members. It's a line-up at 7/11 ther are far more important things to worry about. that is why he most likely he seemed to not care.

 @coastrider22
I clicked on your profile to check your age expecting you to be 10 years old.....
The fact that you think that and your 19 is just sad

Don't hate coastrider22! He's just voicing his opinion and not crying about it. Just something he noticed.

Thanks @lexx. Your right, its not the biggest deal. I was just surprised someone "in the public eye" would do such a thing, more importantly in front of his young kids. 7/11 or not. Its not excusable anywhere.

I just turned 40 and I got no complaints, a little fatter, a little slower and not quite the nerve I had at 20 but every year is better than the last and I sure appreciate it more than ever. Happy Birthday jeff from one old man to another.

Lenosky, we love you man. Ever since the early NWD series, I've been watching you, admiring you, and appreciating what you've been laying out for the freeride evolution. I hope that by the time I turn your age, I will still be ripping up the trails, sending it, and being an inspiration to the younger generation that hey, there is no limit to having fun on your bike. Happy F-ing birthday!

40 cant be that bad unless you really broke yourself badly at some point. I plan to ride until I can't walk, 40 is just a number.

Super cool guy, when I was stationed in NJ I got to ride with him a few times and he never ceased to impress. Go on youtube and search "revolution bike trials" to see one of the original vids he was in back in the day.
